Have more fun.

All work and no play.

This section will give me a chance to document both my labors of love and my other past times anyway. Also I hope it will eventually serve as a showcase for less conventional and more artistic design pursuits. I'm never sure if random citizens will care what I do for fun. That's ok. There are, at a minimum, some nice pictures you may enjoy.

On The Golden Pass

Everywhere I go I find a poet has been there before me.

2006 was a great year for fun. My wife and I got to indulge our travel bug and go to Zurich, Geneva (26Mb Quicktime w/ music), and Paris (13Mb Quicktime w/ music) — and all points in between. We came to discover that the Parisians really do have life figured out. As a result, once we got home, we were inspired to move back into the city and be urban dwellers again. We moved less than a block away from our favorite restaurants and coffee houses. And we again walk to where we need to go. You can look at our pretty pictures here.

On The Nushigak

On the Nushigak, 2006.

As Steven Wright correctly observed “There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on a boat like an idiot.” Last Summer I finally got re-invited to my Father and Brother-in-law's yearly Alaskan King Fishing Trip (6Mb Quicktime). Finally. After I was banned from fishing for dropping my fathers prize trout in Ross Lake while cleaning it. Well. Cleaning it and using it as a ventriloquist dummy. In between the mosquito's and the tequila we managed to have a pretty good time not catching any Kings. In good company with a cohort of other crazy drunk bastards.
